The garden centre is looking wonderful and fresh; summer bedding is here, in packs and small pots and is a riot of colour. Squeeze them into your pots and pretty soon they will fill the space and tumble over the sides. With the rather unsettled weather we are having, aren’t we all desperate to get out there and spruce up our gardens? Well now is your chance – take a bit of inspiration from the images above.
The herbaceous tables have filled up with plenty in bud and flower like these Geums. As they are perennial you can look forward to an even better display in subsequent years. If you’re unsure what to choose just ask us for advice. The Salvia Caradonna on the right come in pink as well as the usual dark purple – this variety is a favourite at flower shows and deservedly so.
The roses from David Austin are bushing out and budding up nicely and will be glorious within a few weeks. We’ve also got tables full of shrubs – evergreen, flowering and in many sizes to suit your budget.
The acers have their beautifully delicate and vibrant leaves now. They are easy to look after in a large pot, just needing to be sited out of wind – just remember to water and feed as they don’t like dry roots.
Much excitement as the tree ferns arrived last week in a huge wooden crate from Tasmania. They arrive without any fronds and it’s wonderful watching them unfurl from the top of the trunk. There are only a limited amount of these so do come and see them before they go!
These gorgeous Calathea orbifolia have the most huge striped leaves, and the Tradescantia (on the right) are so easy to look after, just needing space to trail and a sunny spot.
There’s a lot to see here at the moment, we look forward to showing you what we have. This area is brilliant for small independent shops and cafes so combine your visit here with a lovely cup of coffee round the corner!
We look forward to welcoming you to the garden centre soon.
